Inauguration of Community Service Centre at Wenlock: Red Cross

The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) of Dakshina Kannada Unit, Youth Red Cross of Mangalore University and Wenlock Hospital jointly conducted the inauguration ceremony of Community Service Centre (CSS) at OPD of Wenlock Hospital on 11th February 2020. 15 Youth Red Cross students of Besant Women’s College and even other college students attended this inaugural function. Kota Srinivas Poojary, Minister of Fishery Port and Inland transport inaugurated the centre and said he will develop many more facilities to the hospital of Wenlock.It was presided over by MLA of Mangalore City South D.Vedavyas Kamath said to improve the other projects of Wenlock Hospital he had been earmarked Rs.45 crores. The centre will extend its service to its patients from 9am – 5pm. In this occasion the students and senior citizens who are interested to serve in this community helping centre were provided with jackets by Kota Srinivas Poojary. Dakshina Kannada District Deputy Commissioner Sindu B Roopesh, Chairman of Indian Red Cross society CA Shantharam Shetty ,Mangalore university Vice Chancellor Professor. P S Yadapadithaya, Wenlock Hospital Superintendent Dr.Rajeshwari Devi, Indian Red Cross Society Honorary Secretary Prabhakar Sharma, Nodal Officer Dr.Ganapathi Gowda were present on this occasion.
