Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda an Indian Hindu Monk: National Youth Day

 “The brave monk of India Swamy Vivekanandaaccepted sanyasa only for overall enhancement of India.  He is the one who had understood variousdimension of India.  The people who donot know his personality try to confine him to one religion or group.  But he is an example for Indianess  beyond any such considerations.   Hence, studying Vivekananda is aninspiration to study the real personality of India” said Srikrishna Upadyaya,Publicity in charge of Swachch Bharath Abiyan of Puttur Unit of RamakrishnaAshram.  He was addressing the gatheringat district level National youth Day Celebration jointly organized by D.KDistrict Administration, Govt. First Grade College Carstreet, Mangalore andBesant Women’s College Mangalore  held atBWC Auditorium on 19th of January 2018. 

Though there were many oratorswho were contemporaries to Swamy Vivekananda, only he spoke the language ofIndian hearts before the world.  He wasmore a representative of the world than only that of India. 

He mentored and directed many aforeign admires of India like sister Niveditha to work for all-rounddevelopment of Indian Women.  Hisbirthday is celebrated as ‘National Youth’ day every year by Sri RamakrishnaMission to inspire youth of India. During that time week long youth activitiesplanned and executed, he said.

The Principal of Govt.FirstGrade College, Carstreet, Prof.Rajashekar Hebbar, opined that, since he is thefavorite role model of our youth, the very name of Vivekananda wards offinhibition among the youth and inspires them to succeed.

The Correspondent of BesantWomen’s College Sri. Devananda Pai said, trying to practicing the principlesput forth by Swamy Vivekananda is celebrating his birthday in real sense. Hecalled for making resolution regarding to the youth.

Shantharam Shetty, thePresident of Indian Red Cross Society Mangalore Division explained theimportance of blood donation during the occasion. Dr. Sathish Kumar Shetty P,Principal, Besant Women’s College welcomed the gathering. Dr.Meenakshi K,Students Welfare Officer compeered. Dr.Naveen Konaje, NSS officer, Prof.Jayakar Bhandary, Dr.Praveen KumarK.C, Prof. Syed Kahdar, were present on the dais.  Entertainment programmes followed.
